Forbidden game lj smith12/21/2023 They're going to get more than they bargained for. Though Jenny is having second thoughts, her friends immediately pounce on the mysterious game. Unnerved by his white hair and intense gaze, Jenny buys the game and hurries home where her friends await: sophisticated Audrey, spunky Dee, introverted Zach, cheerful Mike, winsome Summer, and of course, her football star and ruggedly handsome boyfriend. Escaping from a couple of intimidating young men leads her into an unusual shop that seems to have exactly what she's looking for: a unique and unforgettable game: or so the shop owner promises her. Jenny Thornton is preparing a party for her boyfriend Tom, and is exploring the neighborhood in search of a game that will entertain her core group of friends. As such, it was with immense satisfaction that I settled down with all three books handily bound together in one omnibus volume, previously published separately as The Hunter, The Chase and The Kill. For the last six years or so, all I had experienced was a story with no beginning and no end. First published as a trilogy, the middle book was on the shelf of my school library, but the preceding and concluding installments were impossible to get hold of. Out of all Smith's body of work, it was "The Forbidden Game" that I was least familiar with. However, in third book it felt really annoying of reading about yet another game.Well, I do have to thank the Twilight phenomena for one thing at least, and that's that the collected trilogies of Lisa Jane Smith have been pulled out of the Simon and Schuster publishing vault, given brand spanking new covers, and re-released for both a new reading audience, and old-time fans who are ready to fill in the gaps on their bookshelves. In second it was a little bit different so it was also cool. Julian creates it and Jenny with her friends have to win it in order to gain their freedom and just basically survive. MINUS: The trilogy was really about playing a Game. Especially the second book! I was sitting in the huge living room reading the book while my boyfriend watching TV next to me and it all dark inside and I was literally scared! Maybe that is why I loved second book so much, it was just damn scary and made me jump every time our cats would make a noise! Plus it had runes and the myth of nine worlds. PLUS: This book had a lot of magic and I absolutely love magic. So if I tell you that I actually liked Jenny and Julian moment much more you most likely understand why the whole romance in the end for me looked blah. It was just never that strong between Jenny and Julian and just well always clear that Jenny loves her Tom. LOVE: I would like to say there was a love triangle in the trilogy among Jenny Tom and Julian but I would be not exactly on it. Tho I do not like Tom, I actually find him super annoying. Dee I eventually found annoying, Audrey maybe would be my favorite if I must choose and others were just well.they were just there. I was very jumping between who I liked when it come to the friends and in the end I must admit that none of them seemed very special. There are also Jenny's sidekick friend: Dee, Audrey, Zack, Michael, Summer and her love forever Tom. Especially in the third book of the trilogy where we got to know him better. I have to say he did not appeal to me as very handsome, maybe I'm just out of that type of thing but I enjoyed his character very much as well. The evil lead character aka Damon look alike is Julian in this book. I did not love Jenny but I did like her as character a lot. She was just an incredible friend and I absolutely understand why she did the mistakes she did. Sometimes actually too good for me but I must admit, I never felt any hate towards her. Jenny is the same pure and and beautiful and just incredibly good. But not the TV Show Elena, the true Elena that was created by L.J. CHARACTERS: The lead character of the trilogy is Jenny, she actually reminded me a lot of Elena.
